UI/UX Designer London, England

Netcraft
Full Time London, England 60000 - 80000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

The company:

Netcraft is the global leader in cybercrime detection and disruption. We are a trusted partner for three of the four largest companies in the world, twelve of the fifty largest banks, and five country governments. We’ve blocked more than 150 million malicious sites and perform takedowns for around one-third of the world’s phishing sites.

Our purpose, passion, and expertise are focused on one thing: making the online world a safer place. We carry that passion through into our workplace, too. Our people are highly talented, and everyone is valued for their individual contribution, so we make sure Netcraft is always a great place to work. From flexible working to free lunches, social events to supported wellness, we’ve got it covered.

The role:

The UI/UX Designer will play a critical role in shaping the future of our services by helping us redesign critical interfaces across multiple products. Ideally, we’d like someone who is comfortable working across both UI and UX, but the UI side is the most critical element for us, so we’d be very happy with a great UI Designer.

Overall, you'll be responsible for researching, creating concepts, user flows, wireframes and interfaces, working collaboratively with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure that we are delivering the best possible customer experience.

This is a new position at Netcraft so you’ll have a unique opportunity to be our first person solely dedicated to user interface design and user experience. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from different teams to create exceptional and consistent user experiences across our entire product portfolio. Your mission will be to craft innovative, accessible and visually appealing interfaces that our customers love.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing wireframes, prototypes, interfaces and UI specifications that clearly illustrate how our services will look and function
  • Establishing the UI direction for Netcraft's services
  • Creating and maintaining a design language and component library
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand the commercial and user challenges, goals and constraints
  • Communicating design rationale when presenting ideas to stakeholders and measuring the impact of interventions
  • Helping to establish a roadmap defining future milestones for the design of our services
  • Employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative metrics and data to inform design decisions
  • Applying best practice and standards for usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and performance

The reward package:

We like to look after our people well and help them feel engaged and supported, so the reward package includes:

  • A starting base salary of £60-80K (depending on your current experience), reviewed annually
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Company pension scheme with 4% employer contributions
  • Comprehensive private health insurance, including access to a private GP service and dental cashback
  • 32 days holiday per annum (incl. public holidays)
  • Meals and drinks provided every day in the office (yes, there really is such a thing as a free lunch)
  • Inclusive culture and environment, where you’ll feel genuinely valued and respected
  • Great life and wellbeing support with multiple online and in-office resources
  • Tax-efficient cycle to work scheme

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Significant experience (min. 5 years) doing visual/UI design for web applications
  • Demonstrable expertise in creating and delivering design projects, supported by a strong portfolio that showcases your skills and design process
  • Proficiency in working with current design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems through design research and collaboration with stakeholders from different backgrounds
  • Experience in developing and maintaining design systems that ensure consistency and efficiency in design processes
  • Expertise in designing web interfaces that are optimised for multiple devices, including desktop, phone, and tablet
  • Comprehensive understanding of typography, iconography, and colour patterns and their effective use in web design
  • Familiarity with modern UI workflows, component design, and design systems
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to convey concepts and information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, and experience of working in a busy and highly collaborative environment
  • Curiosity, self-motivation, and ability to take ownership of your work
