What you’ll be doing:
- Perform the duties required as a Typhoon Synthetic Instructor Pilot, providing professional aircrew academic and synthetic instruction during the ground school phase of training and other authorized events
- To provide simulator based emergency handling and aircraft systems training to both trainee and Front Line Typhoon pilots
- To work outside of core Company hours as required to support the 29 Squadron task
- The accurate, objective and well-reasoned subjective assessments of student performance, the production of written reports and the delivery of remedial exercises according to student needs
- The provision of high quality ground school training in accordance with the provided syllabus
- Instilling and maintaining a strong Flight Safety culture.
- Provide subject matter expertise to any incident or accident investigation including reconstruction of events in synthetic training devices when required
Your skills and experiences:
- Former RAF fast jet OCU instructor or QFI/QWI
- In depth knowledge of Typhoon aircraft and Customer training structure and processes (DSAT)
- Understanding of Customer synthetic training needs and utilisation of synthetic training requirements
- Understanding of Typhoon operations and weapons systems
- Maintaining currency and knowledge of RAF Typhoon Force and Squadron SOPs and front line Typhoon tactics and doctrines
- Understanding of the RAF Flight Safety system
