We are a leading education provider that has been helping disadvantaged students achieve their academic goals for over 45 years. One of the largest nationwide providers of alternative and supplementary education to schools and local authorities, we support children from all backgrounds through one-to-one and small group tuition programmes.
Role:
You'll provide in-person tuition to students of all abilities who have either disengaged with education or who are struggling to meet age-related academic expectations. Your skill and expertise will play a leading role in improving self-confidence, subject knowledge and ultimately a positive outcome for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Create lesson plans and deliver tuition programmes that are designed to engage, inspire and teach.
- Report on attendance, attainment and engagement for all tutoring sessions.
- Liaise with the school, local authority, or other key stakeholders to inform and support the student.
- Complete training as required and commit to safeguarding principles.
Requirements
You must meet this set of criteria to ensure that your application to tutor is successful:
- Evidence that you are studying for/completed a bachelors level degree or have several years worth of HLTA/TA experience.
- Minimum 6 months teaching/tutoring experience
- Must be willing to undertake a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and referencing process, as well as subscribing to the DBS Update Service.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the national curriculum for your chosen subject.
- Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH and other complex needs.
The following experience is desirable, but not essential for a successful application:
- Professional teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS).
Benefits:
- Competitive weekly pay through PAYE.
- Control over your workload; flexible roles that fit around your existing commitments and availability.
- Access to ongoing training opportunities including safeguarding, online tutoring and CPD.
- A team of Tuition Co-ordinators who will work closely with you to find the right roles for you, and who provide ongoing support for each assignment.
If you're a patient and engaging teacher or tutor, experienced in maths, English or science and who would relish the opportunity to work with students in their own homes or schools delivering tuition on a 1:1 or small group basis, then we'd love to work with you!
