The Role (Supported Internship NHSE Tutor/Assessor - Start Date August 2023)
SBC are looking to recruit an experienced Tutor to deliver our Supported Internship and programme to learners who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Supported internships are a structured, work-based study programme for 16 to 24 year-olds with SEND, who have an education, health and care plan. The internships provide the opportunity for young people to achieve sustained, paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace.
The Tutor will deliver training on employability and life skills, providing career advice and guidance, and providing pastoral care. The Tutor will assess the needs of the learners to provide appropriate support throughout the programme of study and will set goals and regularly review progression with the learners. The role is based off site with he host business in Waterloo, London.
Fixed term contract until 05th July 2024
20 Hours Teaching
15 Hours Assessing

Skills and experience
The ability to deliver excellence in teaching and learning. Ability to relate to and motivate students from a variety of backgrounds and ages, and to employ effective teaching strategies.
- A teaching qualification (minimum level 4)
- English & Maths at Level 2
- Experience of working with SEND learners
- Experience of providing information, advice and guidance to young people
