Technology & Innovation Consultant*
Workplace: Guildford, UK (office-based/hybrid)

The Technology & Innovation Consultant works on the implementation of some of the most innovative and disruptive technologies focusing on patient recruitment, engagement, trial management, data acquisition and retention. The Technology & Innovation Consultant is both an internal – primarily - and client-facing -secondary - role that acts as a hands-on technical leader for the design and configuration aspects of our clinical research platform. Work involves liaising with both internal departments and clients to identify requirements, to prepare both visual and written specification materials and to support the configuration of the platform. Work must be carried out according to KCR’s standard business processes, and to adhere to applicable GxP and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities*:

  • Supports the development of best practices in Process and Metadata used as the basis for departmental project implementations
  • Defines and optimizes implementation processes and methods
  • Advises external customers and internal staff on best practices for implementing our technology platform
  • Supports the business in working with customer representatives in the translation of customer needs into effective solutions
  • Liaises with technology vendors to ensure capabilities are achievable and problems addressed in a timely manner
  • Interactively develops workflow diagrams including swim lane charts to describe flow of tasks and data through the clinical trial lifecycle
  • Authors specifications based upon internal and client requirements, including functional test cases, for use in configuring and developing solutions via the platform and in integrations with other products
  • Develops training materials and delivery of courses both internally, externally and electronically (e.g. via the platform, clinical sites and investigator meetings) as needed
  • Provides design input during the protocol authoring phase, and, to interpret protocols previously developed
  • Supports internal clients and customer during user acceptance testing cycle by resolving issues, answering questions, and guiding them through the process
  • Provides written and verbal status reports to management on client projects and internal projects
  • Participates in internal initiatives, e.g., process improvement, product improvement, and identifying best practices
  • Complies with and enforce KCR’s SOPs, procedures, and policies
  • Contributes to the development, customer delivery and partner support processes
  • Develops delivery tools and infrastructure
  • Contributes to the development of internal, external and partner training programs

Requirements:

  • University/College degree in computer science, information technology, life sciences or related fields
  • At least 3 years of clinical trial system management experience (e.g. CTMS/eTMF/EDC)
  • Process development and improvement experience
  • Ability to support cross functional teams through change (change management)
  • Experience in the development of training materials and training delivery (internal and external)
  • Technical skills in eClinical systems configuration
  • Extensive experience in clinical research EDC or ePRO implementations
  • Excellent customer (internal & external) interaction skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to listen well to understand underlying business problems
  • Demonstrable ability to work well as part of a team
  • Technical skills in languages such as SQL, Python and/or R would be desirable
  • Experience with charting tools such as Lucid Charts or Visio would be desirable
  • Strong commitment to quality and good organisational skills
  • Ability to use MS office / 365 tools well
  • A passion for creating great solutions for Patients and Healthcare Professionals
  • Excellent English language, both written and verbal
