Seeking a SEN Tutor with primary QTS and ADHD and PDA experience for role in Chertsey, 15 hrs/week contact time plus 1.5 hours planning/preparation

The role
Bright Heart Education’s tuition agency (an employment business) is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor who is a qualified primary teacher, with excellent spoken and written English who is available to provide support for a 7-year-old boy with ADHD, ASC (with PDA) and other SEN. Seeking a patient, kind and engaging tutor with experience of ADHD and PDA to provide KS2 homeschooling (full curriculum). The student is working at the expected level for a child of his age and has good problem-solving skills and is chatty and sociable. The tutor would need to have good day time availability. The successful candidate will be provided with further information and guidelines on the Bright Heart Approach and relevant training for working with students.
Key requirements include:
- Passion for working with students with SEN and SEMH needs, including those with more challenging needs
- Ability to provide engaging and informative lessons that motivate students
- Ability to create bespoke lessons according to the student’s needs
- Day time availability, to be able to cover 15 hrs/week Monday to Friday (3 hrs/day, 9 am to 12 pm)

Key qualifications
All candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a current Enhanced DBS certificate before commencing any tutoring assignments (we can apply on behalf of a candidate if not currently held). Candidates will also be required to provide us with 2 independent professional references that are tutoring/teaching related and a parent reference. In addition, candidates should have:
- QTS, with primary teaching experience
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
- Experience working with children with ASC and practical experience of PDA
- Able to deliver a KS2 curriculum
- Can provide structure and motivation
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Day time availability, preferably a 9 am start
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and best practices (in addition to training that will be provided)
