About the Role
This position will be based at our new London campus which is going through an evolution, and from September 2023 will be situated at our brand new, purpose-built and designed 19,000 square feet campus on Commercial Road in London’s East End. This campus will be a creative hub for gaming, esports, music, media and computing.
You will be a key member of the centre's learner support team and take responsibility for safeguarding, academic learning support and the management of the day-to-day running of additional learning support interventions.
The successful candidate will ideally have thorough FE knowledge; including, but not limited to - funding frameworks, curriculum and sector developments, as well as Government policies and priorities and be able to demonstrate prior experience in successfully coordinating a team of staff and in managing At Risk learners. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills which will help you to effectively implement and manage the Support timetable and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality ALS, with contact hours for 1 to 1, small group sessions and the delivery of Mental Health and Wellbeing Support (MHWB). You will also, in collaboration with the Assistant Head of Student Support, mathematics and English, provide an active role in helping to manage the ALS budget and in the implementation of ALS-specific Learning Walks and Observations.
You will work with experienced, passionate tutors as well as within a support service provided by our Central Team. Working at Access Creative College means working with learners and staff who are engaged, enthusiastic and passionate about education.
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related subject area and maths and English qualifications at level 2 or above. A teaching qualification is desirable but if you don’t have one, we will pay for you to get one and provide you with time to study!
