Trusstec Ltd is a well established family run business that was founded in 1988 in Theale, Reading. Trusstec Ltd manufacture timber trussed rafters or Roof Trusses and Easi Joist metal web joists. Trusstec supply areas around the UK such as Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Kent and London.
This role is split between working in a team of four in an energetic fast-paced production environment and undertaking driving and delivery to site duties of the finished product.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 6am-4pm and Friday 6am-8am (39 hour working week), with OT paid till 10am. (if required)
Driving Duties:
- Safely driving a HGV Class C vehicle in accordance with regulations and traffic laws.
- Adhering to industry guidelines for the safe loading and unloading of materials, ensuring compliance with weight restrictions and load security.
- Assisting with the safe loading of the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of the load.
- Driving in accordance with regulations, including maintaining proper logs, observing rest periods, and conducting vehicle inspections.
Factory Duties:
- Safely lifting and placing timbers into manufacturing jigs, following proper techniques and guidelines.
- Selecting timber and metal materials from the yard in accordance with specific orders, while maintaining safe handling practices.
- General housekeeping and tidying in the factory area.
- Adhering to all health and safety requirements, including industry regulations, to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Fulfilling any other reasonable requests from management related to factory operations.

Essential Requirements:
- Self-motivated with a dedicated approach to work.
- Possession of HGV Class C and CPC qualifications, demonstrating compliance with transportation regulations and the ability to safely operate HGV vehicles.
- Attentive and able to maintain a clear focus on your work and others, while also considering transportation regulations.
- Well organized with a methodical way of working, ensuring efficient truss design and transportation planning.
- Must have the ability to read drawings and interpret architectural plans, while also understanding transportation guidelines.
- Detail-conscious, paying close attention to both design specifications and transportation requirements.
- Basic numeracy skills, essential for accurate measurements, calculations, and adherence to transportation limitations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, fostering effective collaboration with architects, engineers, and transportation personnel involved in the construction project.
