Our Client Based at Mallusk, Belfast, have an exciting long term/PERMANENT (NOT MULTI DROP) opportunity for an HGV Class 1 driver.

• JOB TITLE: HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER (FLAT BED LORRIES) NOT MULTI-DROP
• DAY RATE: £13.16 PER HOUR
• EVENING RATE: £14.48 PER HOUR
• HOLIDAY PAY: £1.58 - £1.73 PER HOUR
• 3% EMPLOYERS PENSION

Weekly Working Hours 40+

Monday to Friday - Start times vary from 6.00am to 8.00am(depending on runs required) and finish times 3.30/4.30pm

The successful candidate will be trained with another driver for one week to assure you have been shown all company procedures and fully trained with the lorry you will be required to drive.

This is not multi-drop you shall be working with delivery of steel through NI.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Excellent customer service skills Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
• Complete vehicle checks in line with Operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Manager (both in writing and verbally)
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department

Essential Criteria

• Must hold a valid HGV1 licence, Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Good Geographical knowledge of NI
• Good Knowledge of driver’s hours, rules and regulations
• Good Communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must have experience of using ratchet straps
• Must be able to apply Manual Handling techniques
• Must be flexible to work weekends & Bank holidays
