Job description
Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team for a dedicated route from Croydon to Birmingham. This is a Monday to Friday position, with evening departures and morning returns. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods along the designated route.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle from Croydon to Birmingham and back on a daily basis
- Adhere to the assigned schedule, departing in the evenings and returning by morning
- Maintain a 12-hour shift, ensuring compliance with driving hours and working time directives
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its roadworthiness
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and environmental regulations
- Demonstrate a good understanding of written and verbal English language skills
- Maintain a clean driving record with no more than 3 penalty points on the license
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an HGV Class 1 driver
- Valid Full UK HGV Class 1 License, Digi-Card & DQC Card
- Strong understanding of driving hours and working time directives
- Ability to work independently and follow a designated schedule
