About the role:
You will have responsibility for leading all elements of Northern’s delivery of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) infrastructure programme and supporting delivery of projects/workstreams in the Northern TRU Business Plan.
Acting as the key interface between Northern and the TRU Programme team on all TRU delivery related activities, working collaboratively with industry partners at a programme level to ensure the integrity of the programme.
We are looking for the right person to successfully deliver the key outputs projects which contribute to realising the benefits to our customers.

Key responsibilities:
This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:
- Lead Northern's TRU project delivery and provide input at the programme level
- Represent Northern in key programme meetings and reviews
- Contribute to the development of an Integrated Industry schedule
- Ensure minimal customer disruption while efficiently delivering the TRU programme
- Collaborate with industry partners to devise and execute plans for customer benefits through Key Outputs methodology
About you:
You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent and have significant experience in project management with a clear understanding of programme management techniques, such as risk management, providing status reports, schedule forecasting, budgeting.
We’re also looking for the following:
- Proven experience in Railway Operations Management
- Excellent communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to achieve results through influence and use of evidence based decisions
- Experience of project management principles and ability to scope and lead work packages
- Having a project management qualification would be advantageous
