IRW’s Finance Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Treasury Operations Officer’ to join its dynamic Treasury team based in Birmingham, UK.
The role holder will directly support the Treasury Operations Manager in providing a first class treasury service to the group, with the direct responsibility for the daily international payments and compliance queries responses.
Working closely with the Treasury Operations Manager, the role will support the banking deliverables of the charity and its subsidiaries.
- Supporting an efficient and reliable FX purchase service, obtaining the best exchange rates possible and working with the finance teams to ensure an efficient settlement process and to monitor speed of delivery of funds
- Facilitating credit card and prepaid cards on boarding process for IR employees and providing support as necessary.
- Supporting the on-boarding of new financial service providers
- Supporting the development and production of monthly Treasury dashboard information
- Undertaking a wide variety of activities to enable improvement to IRW’s financial systems, standards and practices.
- Supporting banking operations for UK and international teams, including trading operations
- Treasury Cash Reporting and Risks Monitoring
- Together with Treasury operations manager identifying and implementing operational efficiencies within the Treasury team, including continuous improvement and efficiency projects as agreed by Head of Treasury
- Assisting the treasury operations manager with the day to day management of our treasury operations including oversight of the processing of all payments, both internal and third party, FX confirmation matching, and accurate position determination.
- Maximising the impact of funds by minimising the exposure of foreign currency for field offices and other operational currencies.
The successful candidate must have or be:
- Evidence of working towards professional level of ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW qualifications
- Qualified in accountancy (or equivalent), with specialism in Banking and/or Treasury
- Treasury operations experience, ideally within an multicurrency treasury international context
- Experience of an accounting environment with experience of foreign exchange risk mitigation.
- Experience working in a Treasury or Banking environment
- Experience administering UK and overseas banking documentation
- Familiarity with Treasury and Banking Policies and procedures
- Prior knowledge and experience of payment processing, ideally within an international environment
- Familiarity with the functionality of a SWIFT-based treasury management system and its interface with banks, financial management systems and currency trading portals would be an advantage.
- Experience with using compliance screening software.
- Understanding of compliance vetting processes.
- Good all round business acumen and an understanding of the role of the Finance department in adding value to operational decision making.
- Experience of managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Good understanding of access controls and compliance with segregation of duties
