This is a Fixed term post for 12 months from appointment.
NHSGG&C are keenly aware of the importance of reducing single occupancy car use and the move to more active and sustainable travel modes for their staff in the daily commute and as part of their duties. For the avoidance of doubt, active and sustainable travel covers all modes that are not single car occupancy including public transport, car share, walking, wheeling and cycling. The key objective of the postholder is to promote active and sustainable travel across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. This includes implementing, maintaining, hosting and organising a diverse range of events to promote active and sustainable travel to NHSGG&C staff, including cycle to work, public transport, car share and bike maintenance sessions. The postholder will
- Promote, host and coordinate bike maintenance sessions for NHSGG&C staff.
- Organise, coordinate and host promotional events to provide information on the range of active and sustainable travel available to staff, in person and through online platforms.
- Develop and maintain marketing materials for the range of active and sustainable travel modes across NHSGG&C.
- Responsible for hosting bike maintenance sessions to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills to carry out basic checks to keep their bike in good working order.
- Work with a range of stakeholders, including public transport operators, SPT, local authorities, internal stakeholders to develop, implement and monitor a communications and marketing plan
You should be educated to SVQ level III or equivalent experience. Have insight knowledge, understanding and a willingness to learn necessary skills. You should be able to use Microsoft office systems and similar applications.
