Job Title: Trauma-Informed Psychological Therapist – Creative Arts Therapist / Play Therapist / other Therapist backgrounds
Contracted Hours: Full Time
Shift pattern: 8 hours a day within the hours 9a.m to 6p.m Monday to Friday.
Salary: £35,000
Location: Nuneaton, North Warwickshire
Forge Care’s flagship new service, The Forge, is a brand-new, purpose designed Therapeutic Community for children, that is dedicated to facilitating recovery from early traumatic life experiences, disrupted attachment and to reducing the impact of adversity, so that children can make sense of their pasts.
We steward children’s development of trust in themselves and in others, as well as belief in and skills for their future. Our Model of Care is based on neuro developmental, trauma-resolution principles and positive attachment practices and is framed by the Sanctuary Model®.
Within community living we practice boundaries not barriers. Everybody within the community has a role supporting children and stewarding towards holistic wellbeing of all its members.
Role information
To offer trauma-sensitive, creative-expressive therapy to the children living at Forge Care
To offer opportunities for engagement in 1:1 weekly therapy sessions
To empathise, contextualise and normalise children’s struggles and survival strategies, in order to desensitise their nervous systems from repeating their survival strategies
To facilitate growth in their capacity to process their experiences – past and present
Collaboratively learn about the children through the process of engaging in Assessments and Formulations, through reviewing past information, clinical and non-clinical records, through planned, reciprocal communication with the Care Team
Actively participate in reflection spaces and team meetings
Identify and report any safeguarding and child protection concerns following Forge Care’s policies and procedures
Live Forge Care’s values of Sanctuary Model and Therapeutic Community
Experience
Holds a recognised clinical qualification (in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical psychology, Art/Dance/Drama/Music Therapy)
Holds a recognised membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. BACP / UKCP/NCS/BPS/HCPC)
Strong experience in a similar setting
