Transport Night Shift Manager Northwich, England
Job description
Wincanton are looking for an experienced Nights Transport Shift Manager to join our Morrison’s contract in Gadbrook.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will manage and motivate your management team by giving clear direction and leadership, monitoring performance and ensuring the depot achieves high performance levels including daily and weekly KPIs. This role requires transport experience and strong relationship building and communication skills.
The role will be permanent night shift on 4 on 4 off basis
The shifts are 6pm – 6am
The salary for this role is £41,000 p.a plus £3000 p.a shift premium (paid monthly).
How will you contribute?
- To manage and motivate your team by giving clear direction and leadership, monitoring performance to assist and support the Transport Manager and ensure the depot achieves high performance levels and the efficient and effective provision of a quality service to stores and the customer.
- To ensure that the transport operation achieves the targeted daily and weekly KPIs
- To work together as part of a flexible team to ensure high levels of service are achieved, ensure all new starters within the department are aware of their overall responsibilities including the environment and health and safety. You will challenge poor and promote good health and safety and environmental practices leading by example encouraging colleague’s performance in any given role and process.
What will you bring?
- Transport experience, ideally in the fast-moving goods industry
- Full knowledge of transport legislation.
- Experience of managing managers
- Experience of managing health and safety, compliance and performance
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Able to manage conflict and tough conversations including complex IR issues.
- Ability to manage a shift in the absence of the Transport Manager
