We are currently looking to recruit a Transport Manager to join our head offices in Abergavenny.

Role Responsibility
As a Transport Manager, you will be working on managing the safe and cost-effective utilisation of all HGV related requirements within the business, managing the workforce and equipment to create safe standards through positive and proactive engagement while creating an open environment through demonstrating behaviours in line with company values.
On a day to day basis, the Transport Manager's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Managing the Operator's Licence
Managing FORS compliance and be the lead on the yearly audits
Enforcing compliance to include Driver licences, qualifications, hours and working time; ensuring accurate records are kept for drivers, daily defect checks and vehicles maintenance; updating vehicles on the O Licence
Ensure H&S policies are communicated and adhered to the transport team
Create safe systems of work and ensure the workforce is briefed and follows the systems.
Manage Training Matrix in place to ensure all staff is trained and competent to carry out the tasks within their roles.
Manage the FTA Vision system to ensure driving & HGV data is recorded, infringements debriefed.
Ensuring the HGV fleet is maintained responsibly via Inhouse or R&M Contract.
Producing monthly performance reports for the department
Monitor operating centres/ depots e.g. Welsh Water, Anglesey to ensure there compliance.
The Ideal Candidate
In order to be considered, you should have experience in the following:
Experience in a Transport Management role
Experience in managing an Operator`s Licence
Experience in managing large fleets of HGVs and Drivers is essential
Understanding of health and safety processes
Experience using transport related systems to aid with efficient management
