Job description
You will ideally hold a Transport Manager CPC and can demonstrate experience in taking a Transport team to the next level. Working closely with the Site Manager you will take ownership of the full logistics function for the site and will do this with a hands-on-approach. Following legal guidelines you will ensure that the fleet and its mobile workforce remain within the law and that the company operator Licence is protected and all undertakings are adhered to. From route planning to maintenance scheduling you will make sure that available efficiencies are realised and unnecessary costs are controlled.
- Ensure all the logistics team adheres to the company H&S procedures with regard to PPE, accident/incident reporting etc.
- Assist in the induction process and training of all new logistics employees, ensuring that a safe system of work is maintained at all time.
- Ensuring that all training records are maintained and updated where applicable.
- Liaise with the site operations team to implement a daily logistics plan.
- Have full commercial awareness of the site transportation activities.
- Develop and introduce practical planning solutions to ensure maximum fleet and driver utilisation whilst controlling cost.
- Deliver first class customer service to all stakeholders.
- Management of the logistics team including all disciplinary matters and adherence to the company handbook, rules and regulations.
- Lead contact for all external haulage providers.
- Drive a culture of “Health and Safety First” throughout the site and introduce a workplace transport safety plan.
- Plan driver’s hours and WTD in line with relevant legislations.
- Ensure final inspections are carried out on outgoing goods.
- Ensure all relevant documentation in relation to collections and deliveries are accurately completed and returned to site.

Salary: £32,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
