Technical Translator and Writer (French)
Job Description
SES & technologies ltd. seeks the services of a Technical Translator and Writer (from English to French) for full-time employment. A Technical Translator and Writer that can fluently translate from either language will have an added advantage during the hiring review process.
The Technical Translator and Writer must be fluent in French, and able to explain the scientific and technical ideas related to the products and services provided by SES and work with a team of researchers, engineers, and programmers by creating, editing, and publishing the following documents:
User guides, How-to Manuals and instruction manuals
Online help files
Technical brochures
Online documentation and pamphlets
Website marketing material and newsletters
Frequently asked questions (FAQs) and reference manuals
Additionally, the Technical Translator and Writer must contribute to the layout and design of the above documents.
Requirements
Electrical knowledge and background or equivalent
Excellent French writing skills
Very good knowledge of English due to documentation and communications with customers who are about 95% outside Quebec
Excellent communication skills
Good knowledge of MS Office suite
Additional Skills of Interest
The following skills would be an asset:
Knowledge of other languages besides French and English
Knowledge of authoring and translation tools such as Madcap Flare, Lingo or memoQ
One or more years of experience in technical writing and translation role
