Position Overview:

The Transformation Office Programme Manager is a senior role responsible for overseeing and managing strategic transformation initiatives. This role involves driving and coordinating the execution of complex programs aimed at achieving organizational change, growth, and optimization. The Programme Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership to ensure successful program delivery and alignment with the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization's strategic objectives and transformation goals.
    • Work closely with executive leadership to define the scope, objectives, and success criteria for transformation initiatives.
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure the successful execution of programs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with various departments, teams, and stakeholders to foster alignment and effective communication throughout the transformation process.
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage their expectations regarding project outcomes and timelines.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and communication channels to ensure transparency and collaboration.
  • Programme Execution and Monitoring:
    • Oversee the end-to-end execution of programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Monitor and track progress, identifying potential risks or roadblocks and proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and methodologies, making adjustments as needed.
  • Risk Management and Issue Resolution:
    • Identify potential risks and issues that could impact the successful delivery of initiatives.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to minimize disruptions and maintain program momentum.
    • Address challenges promptly and escalate critical issues to executive leadership when necessary.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Prepare regular status updates, progress reports, and presentations for executive leadership and other stakeholders.
    • Communicate program status, milestones, and key insights to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
    • Tailor communication to different audiences, presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Gather feedback from stakeholders and team members to identify opportunities for improving processes and program outcomes.
    • Continuously assess the effectiveness of initiatives and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (ideally 7+ years) in programme management, project management, or transformation management roles.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in change management and organizational transformation is highly desirable.
  • Certification in project or programme management (e.g., PMP, PgMP) is highly desirable.

Location

In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in early 2025 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
