We are looking for:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transcription Production Assistant position within our Transcription Team.
We are looking to recruit self-motivated individuals who can keep up with the demands of working within a fast paced environment and enjoy working in a supportive team.
The Transcription team transform standard documents into accessible formats for blind and partially sighted people. All important correspondence you get through your letterbox, we are responsible for making accessible. You will be part of the team that extracts the information/text from these documents and formats into either Large Print, Braille, Audio or EasyRead, ready to go down to our Dispatch team; who print and pack these documents and mail out to the end user.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with knowledge of Microsoft Office, good computer and data entry/typing skills and who is willing to learn and make a difference. All Transcription training will be provided in-house and on-site.
Reporting to a Transcription Team Leader your main responsibilities will include:
- Producing a range of alternative formats including Large Print, Braille and Audio within the Microsoft package and other in-house programs to client specific requests
- Working to client Service Level Agreements
- Working with speed and accuracy whilst maintaining agreed quality standards
- Assisting automated production routes and delivering feedback to Team Leaders on any non-conformances
- Scanning documents through OCR software to deliver data to colleagues
- Proofing other colleagues work for any non-conformance
What you’ll need to succeed in this role
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Experience of working to Service Level Agreements
- Experience of implementing process improvements
- Ability to work in a dynamic workspace
- Ability to organise time effectively, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines
- An ability to communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people internally at different levels of the organisation and externally where appropriate
- Experience of training other members of staff and giving relevant feedback
