How You'll Perform the Role
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Employee Experience, the Manager, Learning & Development will support talent management and employee experience initiatives in support of the development of Novolex employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs and then actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate and enhance performance.
- Works in conjunction with the Director, Leadership & Development to develop, modify and improve training and development programs and objectives
- Selects and develops learning aids such as: training handbooks, facilitator guides, participant guides, presentation slides, computer tutorials and reference documents
- Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events
- Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts such as Performance Review and Talent Review and Career Pathing
- Assists in implementing employee development and training in support of Novolex Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion objectives
- Develops and maintains internal communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources
- Performs back-end administrative tasks in our online learning management system, Novolex University
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results to continuously improve programs
- Works closely with our Safety, IT and legal teams to ensure strong training and system usage
- Manages spending against the departmental budget
What We Need From You
- Five years of experience designing and implementing employee development & training programs, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred or a combination of relevant experience and education is a plus
- Ability to lead projects, leverage consultative skills and instructional design methodologies
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods; adult learning techniques a plus
- Experience in using and administering Learning Management Systems
- Ability to travel up to 20%
