Role Overview*
As the Training Delivery Manager at Cambridge Spark, you will be responsible for the overall direction and management of the training department, including the recruitment and vetting of new associate trainers and teachers (Faculty). You will be accountable for the quality of delivery across all forms of live online instructor-led training, including publicly funded apprenticeships/ bootcamps and privately funded corporate training. You will also have management responsibility for the in-house trainer team and the coordination and supply of the training schedule. Additionally, you will be responsible for the leadership and recruitment of a diverse pool of expert faculty who support the training schedule.
As the Training Delivery Manager, it is important to ensure that the training provided meets the needs of the various departments within the organisation and is delivered to an excellent standard. To do this, you will work closely with the Heads of Practice to understand their training needs & requirements and ensure that these are met. You will also work closely with the Quality Department to ensure that teaching staff are suitably trained and that training meets internal and external quality standards. This may involve implementing user testing and coordinating the integration of feedback to continuously improve the quality of training delivery. Finally, you will play a key role in the creation and continuous improvement of new educational products.

Key responsibilities:*

  • Leadership of the Training/Faculty team, inspiring gold standard delivery and innovative content to an exceptional quality standard. Accountable for ensuring all trainers are delivering effectively to the key responsibilities within their job roles, including but not limited to:

  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Talent sourcing - researching and finding suitable trainers and tutors
  • Operational Governance: Session plans, schemes of work, SEN requirements captured and routine OTLAs to ensure delivery to defined criteria
  • Integrated Degree Apprenticeship Delivery : Own the scheduling of delivery and faculty assignment operations as part of contract of Subcontracted Apprenticeship degree delivery
  • CPD: Encourage and enable continuous professional development for staff across the training team to maintain and improve gold standard delivery and innovative and engaging strategies for teaching and learning
  • Continual improvement :Continually review all feedback, escalating where appropriate and actioning directly also. Provide regular updates on learner progress to SMT and provide support to the Programmes team with Session Plans, Schemes of Work and activities due by the training team. Support the Curriculum team in determining root cause analysis activities to identify the causes of negative learner feedback and develop corrective actions.
  • Meetings: Hold regular team meetings providing updates to the team on all areas of the business, arrange for other stakeholders to be part of those meetings as needed, and providing information to other stakeholders for their own meetings, ensuring collaboration across the departments
  • Quality: Contribute to the Quality Assurance process by monitoring, reviewing and evaluating all aspects of courses. Supporting quality observations of sessions, assignments and content across all trainers including faculty. Constantly identify opportunities for improving processes, learner experience, content and take responsibility and initiative to identify issues and create solutions and go on to implement them. Deliver routine OTLA sessions in line with EIF guidance/criteria, documenting formal feedback with a view to improving learner experience.
  • Communication - Work closely with the CSpark Delivery, Sales and Tech teams to ensure everyone is up to speed on CSpark’s suite of products and ensure changes are communicated regularly and clearly
  • Metrics - Reporting of OKR metrics to drive performance and work towards achieving Cambridge Spark’s mission - to help organisation succeed and create value from Data Science & AI
  • Account Management - Provide support to the account management team, ensuring that key clients are listened to and that swift action is delivered where the impact the majority of learners within the population.
  • To support with any ad-hoc duties or requests that may be reasonably required to successfully carry out the role or to support the business

Candidate Specification:
Key Skills:

  • Experience managing a large team and external contractors
  • A qualified teacher and or experience managing trainers (or willing to commit to obtaining the appropriate qualification) - Desirable
  • 3+ years in a similar role within formal teaching or Apprenticeships
  • Experience of external accreditations and working towards a framework ie: Ofsted EIF, Matrix accreditation
  • Relevant education/industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed industry standard satisfaction metrics
  • A growth mindset individual, who views challenges as opportunities to improve
  • Ability to influence stakeholders from a range of disciplines and seniority
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate a range of direct reports
