Job description
The role
Warrington Borough Council’s Families and Wellbeing Commissioning and Contracting Team is dedicated to commissioning, procuring, contracting and monitoring a range of services which improve the outcomes for children and adults within Warrington.
A vacancy has arisen for a Direct Payment Officer to join an established Direct Payments Team. Direct Payments are Social Care payments for people who have been assessed as requiring assistance, and would like to arrange, manage and pay for their own care and support services rather than the local authority commissioning care on the individual’s behalf.
The post holder will be responsible for setting up new direct payments on the Councils systems for both adults and children along with the ongoing management of existing accounts.
You will be required to act on your own initiative, prioritising tasks and duties and work calmly and effectively when under pressure.
Excellent communication skills are essential. Experience of working in an administrative capacity and the ability to use a range of IT solutions are an essential feature of this post. We offer a supportive environment within a friendly team.
For informal discussion – Please contact Justine Kniveton, Direct Payments and Care Arranger Team Manager on 01925 443572.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
