Lowri Beck and Plug Me In, part of Calisen group are expanding the range of activities in line with the mission to deliver Smarter Energy for All.
Smart Meter services, the installation of Heat pumps and EV charging will reinforce Calisen’s role in helping to roll-out energy transition assets in support of Net Zero.
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Trainer & Assessor in Gas & Plumbing to join our established Training team based at our dedicated Training Academy in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, during an exciting period of progress and change.
The successful candidate will design, develop, and deliver new starter, refresher and upskill training courses/modules to Lowri Beck and Plug Me In trainees as required, in line with business requirements. This will include delivery of Dual Fuel (Gas only), and Heat Pump Training and any other required training such as Induction and general training modules. The training delivery should be engaging for Trainees and align with the standards set to support Trainees in achieving the competency required.
Carry out assessments on Trainees to ensure that set and agreed competency standards are met before they can ‘go live’. If needed, there will be opportunities to upskill in order to deliver across the range of training modules provided to Lowri Beck & PMI by the Training Academy, to ensure that the business needs are met.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of working on Gas Installations & wet central heating systems.
- Level 3 Gas Qualifications CCN1 & CENWAT
- Level 2/3 Plumbing & Heating Qualification or equivalent and N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Domestic Installation) is desirable.
- Heat Pump Qualification (Air Source), WRAS Water Regulations/Water Byelaws & Energy Efficiency (Part L), PTLLS qualification (or equivalent), Assessor Qualification and IQA Qualification are all desirable (or have a willing to work towards)
- Knowledge of the appropriate H&S legislation applicable and of relevant SSoWs, procedures and policies.
- Able to design appropriate training and assessment programmes and related materials and to deliver/perform training and assessment to a high standard.
- Able to evaluate the success of a learning programme, continuously improving the offering and use innovative ways of designing and delivering content to Trainees.
- Must be able to perform well in a fast paced and sometimes challenging environment.
- Be able to work well as part of a collaborative team, supporting colleagues and work under own initiative as appropriate.
- Have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and always willing to support colleagues across the business.
- Must be flexible in approach to support the team and business in achieving objectives and completing work on time.
