Role Responsibility
As a Trainer you will play an integral role in supporting in the delivery of training for a Future Internal project. The Future project will upgrade the software used on our tills, across all of our locations, helping to reinvent retail and give our customers the best possible experience in our stores.
Reporting into the Change Manager, you will deliver inspiring and impactful till training to team members across stores in an engaging and professional manner, which supports and promotes Selfridges’ values.
You’ll work collaboratively with other trainers to coach and support both individuals and teams to drive knowledge retention and usage of the new store till software. Working alongside Retail managers and other stakeholders, you’ll support team members to develop their skills and access supporting interventions that meet the individuals’ needs.
To ensure your success, you will be onboarded into the Change team and given training to develop your skills and confidence as a trainer.
As a Trainer you will:
- Be responsible for training administration, day to day planning and training delivery for the Future project, for your store / divisions.
- Develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Selfridges till system and the case for change, prior to the training rollout.
- Facilitate training sessions, run drop ins and provide coaching to individuals and teams, helping to ensure confidence and knowledge on Selfridges tills.
- Proactively work with managers and team members to understand blockers and overcome them through regular floor walks and communication.
- Evaluate, track and report on training completion and attendance and share updates with retail management.
The Ideal Candidate
- Knowledgeable. Experienced training others, preferably within a retail environment.
- Flexible. Able to adapt your style and delivery methods to ensure the best approach and meet the needs of other team members.
- Able to learn new concepts quickly and translate complex information into simple and engaging content.
- Organised, able to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- A great communicator. You have excellent influencing skills, building professional, lasting relationships.
- Customer-focused, putting your customers at the heart of everything you do.
- A role model, setting high standards and always leading by example.
