Job description

The vacancy

Moore Barlow is currently seeking applications from current students interested in joining our 2025 Trainee Programme.

More About our Trainee Scheme

Applications for our 2025 trainee intake open on 13th January 2023 and the deadline for receipt of applications is 16th April 2023.

Our recruitment process begins after the application deadline when all applications are considered.

We are looking for trainee solicitors who have come through via the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route or have studied the Legal Practice Course (LPC).

Location:

You will rotate training seats across a number of our divisions. This application process is designed for people most interested in building a career in the Guildford/Surrey area on completion of their training.

SQE – Qualifying Work Experience

This new route began in September 2021. It will soon be the only way to qualify as a solicitor. Your qualifying work experience will cover a period of up to two years.

For both the SQE and the traditional LPC route your training will typically be organised across four seats, each lasting six months. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas of law and there is the possibility, depending on the needs of the business, to specialise early on in your training within the practice areas that interest you most.

Training contract

We are still accepting graduates who have studied the LPC. Training with us gives you the opportunity to work right across the business, experiencing the full range of legal disciplines we cover.

As with the SQE route you will benefit from a structured programme designed to provide you with the right experience, education, hands on involvement and support to prepare you for your career following qualification.

Why consider us for your training?

We offer trainees experience in a variety of work, including:

  • Four seats from across seven different divisions
  • Experience of on the ground legal work; including court attendance, client meetings and document drafting
  • Early responsibility and ownership
  • Working with lawyers who are experts in their field
