The Air UK business is looking to grow its existing Project Controls workforce through a brand new programme - The Air UK Project Controls Development Scheme.
Throughout your time on the scheme, you will be placed into a project controls team in one of our many programmes across the Air sector. Alongside this, you will study towards your Level 4 qualification which will involve a day-release to college over a six month period. You will be applying your learning to the role whilst developing your business aptitude.
The Lancaster University led qualification is sponsored by BAE Systems and will be gained through Blackpool at the Fylde College.
Once you have successfully obtained your qualification, you will continue in your role where you will build upon your new career at BAE Systems and have the opportunity to further your personal development.

What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the development/production and analysis of business data by using project control and monitoring tools, techniques, and processes
- Producing and analysing data with accuracy, identifying and forecasting trends to meet targets, and managing projects to time, cost and quality
- Providing support to project managers and control account managers to enable effective cost, planning and scheduling, risk, opportunity and resource management
- Supporting the identification and management of risk and opportunities and learning from experience
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Demonstrable IT skills to a proficient standard through academic qualifications and/or examples of using Microsoft Office to analyse and present data (e.g. Excel)
- Ability to study for a Level 4 Qualification, maintaining an appropriate balance between academic studies whilst working
- Hold a grade C / 4 GCSE in English and Maths subjects
- Evidence of professional behaviours; showing strong business acumen and demonstrative transferable skills from previous experience in other industries
Desirable:
- Understand the principles of planning and project controls processes
