Responsibilities
As a Trainee Planner, you'll be working within the Alderney team, initially monitoring and contributing to aspects of the planning lifecycle on our Alderney water treatment works project. This position is ideally suited to an experienced section engineer or sub agent looking to make a move into a full-time planning role.
Your day to day will include:
You’ll initially play a role within the Alderney project to aid delivery to time and budget.
You’ll be learning how to ensure the programme is developed, communicated, reviewed, monitored and efficiently delivered across all stages of the project planning life cycle. This role supports the project management team through construction and into handover.
You’ll be mentored by the project’s Senior Planner but also learn from the site operational team, helping to monitor the sequence of work and resourcing of the project.
You’ll be collecting key data to support the business unit and the scheme’s project control reporting. This role could feature a secondment to our work winning team at an agreed time, and to suit business needs, to ensure that your planning training benefits from 360-degree exposure.

This role of Trainee Planner is great for you if:
You have an operational site delivery background and understanding of the key role the programme plays within a project
You have an appreciation of the key industry standard planning packages and techniques
Openness and willing to learn and grow as an individual
You have a degree of delivery experience of major projects with a developing knowledge of the construction process
You'll have a pro-active mind-set with good communication and problem-solving skills
