Avaliable Job Today Due to expansion we have a fantastic opportunity for an influential, pragmatic Group HSQE Manager to join our multi-site manufacturing business in a critical new role.
Working as the Group HSQE Manager you will have responsibility for our two manufacturing facilities, located in Scunthorpe and Wisbech with your time split 50/50 between the two. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build their own team, consisting of 2 x Quality Engineers and 1 x Facilities Engineer.
Key areas of responsibility:
Health and Safety
· Lead health and safety for the business and set out a strategy to promote this in the workplace.
· Create and maintain all site inductions.
· Complete site inspections.
· Review PPE requirements for the business.
· Manage employee health screening and pre-employment questionnaires.
· Lead a project to digitise record keeping.
· Ensure compliance against key legislation, such as; legionella, asbestos, building compliance, welfare regulations etc..
· Keeping up to date with relevant health & safety legislation and approved codes of practice, ensuring this is implemented to the workplace.
· Chairing quarterly health & safety meetings and ensuring that actions are recorded and followed through.
· Carry out thorough Investigations into accidents or incidents ensuring a full root cause analysis is completed and preventative measures implemented, helping the business eliminate or reduce risks as far as reasonably practicable.
· Take the lead with regards to any Health and Safety audits, ensuring the business has the correct processes and procedures in place to meet the required standards.
· Identify and implement initiatives to improve our safety culture and compliance, including all procedures, processes, safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and COSHH.
· Coaching local managers and supervisors in completing workplace risk assessments and method statements.
Quality
· Take the lead in maintaining our ISO 9001 accreditation, ensuring compliance throughout the business with regular reviews of the QMS undertaken by process owners.
· Ensure the business is working in line with ISO 45001 standards.
· Take the lead on maintaining group Type Approval and Conformity of Production (CoP).
· Lead projects to digitise and streamline our quality audits and operations.
· Ensure all products produced meet quality standards required to minimise quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction.
· Drive Root Cause Analysis and provide robust and permanent corrective actions to prevent re-work due to Quality Issues.
· Deploy significant quality expertise to provide tangible benefit to the organisation (product cost, quality, metrics etc.) Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
· Put in place and maintain Quality control throughout the business and look to establish Quality Assurance.
· Lead customer complaint process with the intention of reducing complaints/ NCRs and drive improvements in CI activity's using appropriate tools and methods.
Environmental
Own and manage local environmental impact initiatives, coordinating in full with similar initiatives at Group level. Work with any stakeholders that have environmental concerns, enquiries or professional requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience
· A current HSQE Manager or experienced HSQE Engineer with a proven track record of balancing risk and cost sensibly.
· Background in managing Type approval, ISO9001 and CoP is highly desirable.
· Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is critical.
· Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding is desirable.
Qualifications
· Level 6 H&S Qualification is essential, such as:
o NEBOSH diploma
o NCRQ level 6
o NVQ level 6 Diploma
· Chartered member of IOSH.
· QMS Auditor/Lead auditor is highly desirable.
· Membership of IEMA is desirable.
NEBOSH fire certificate or equivalent is desirable.
