Role Summary: Based within the Third Party Administration Business unit, you will work closely with the Client finance team supporting in the delivery of an efficient pensions accounting service to a broad portfolio of clients.
Key responsibilities would include
- Support the Accounting Team in the preparation and audit of pension fund Trustee Report & Accounts, complying with statutory deadlines and deadlines specified within each client agreement.
- Assist with maintaining accounting records for each client in order to prepare financial statements.
- Help to draft Trustees report for colleagues and consultants to review.
- Working alongside the Accounting Team, become involved in the implementation of changes in line with statutory legislation and Accounting Standards of Recommended Practice.
- Assist with preparation of Inland Revenue Self-Assessment Forms for Trustees to sign.
- Assist with specific audit queries, supporting the Accounting Team as and when required.
- Establish and maintain great working relationships with clients, consultants, auditors and other stakeholders, dealing with them in a sensitive and diplomatic manner.
About you:
- Educated to at least A-level (or equivalent). Maths at A level (or equivalent) would be beneficial.
- Already working towards, or willing to work towards the AAT or ACCA qualification, as appropriate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of an accounting system / package would be beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and strong numerical skills
- Experience in managing own time and workload to meet deadlines and prioritise work efficiently
- Ability to solve problems rationally whilst maintaining speed and accuracy
