About Us

Endeavour Academy in Oxford opened in 2014 and is a residential academy for children and young people with autism and associated severe Learning difficulties aged from 9 to 19 years old. In 2015 we opened Discovery Academy in Nuneaton, for children with social, emotional and mental health needs and /or autism. In 2017 we opened Quest Academy also catering for children with SEMH and/or autism. Finally, in September 2020, Venture Academy based in Henley-in-Arden joined the Trust catering for pupils in years 5-11 (ages 9-16) who may have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and/or Diagnoses of Autism or an associated condition.

The Role
As a small but growing Trust, we are currently seeking a Trainee Management Accountant to join our Central Support Team who provide support services to all four schools within our Trust.
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and confidential financial and support service for MacIntyre Academies. You will manage the month end process and assist in the preparation of management reports with variance analysis for several stakeholders across the Trust. Working with the Central Finance team you will ensure all aspects of month end are prepared in line with the timetable and produce reports and reconciliations to include P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecasts. You will collate and produce financial information for the scheduled internal auditing of operational services and contribute to the organisations end of year audit procedures. When requested, you will respond in a timely manner to operational colleagues request for financial information.
You will also be responsible for managing the relationship of our payroll third party provider ensuring compliance with Trust polices.
You will be supporting the growth ambitions of MacIntyre Academies Trust and securing additional income from foundations, trusts and grant making bodies which will help us further our mission and goals.
About You
This is an exciting role for someone eager to develop in their Finance Career. Working as an integral part of the Central Finance Team you will report to the Finance Manager assisting them in elements of the Finance function.
A strong team player, you will possess the ability to operate calmly under pressure and you will be prepared to work variable hours occasionally to meet the requirements of the post.
You will enjoy working with people in both a supportive and challenging manner, eager to improve processes and work through change in a positive way. You will be eager to develop in your finance career and study support can be provided for the right candidate.
The role can be based remotely with regular visits to our sites in Warwickshire and Oxfordshire, (and elsewhere as required) so your own transport and a willingness to travel is essential.
