We are looking for a Process Biotechnologist to join our team in Nottingham.
Do you have production or manufacturing experience ideally from a GMP environment? Are you a life science graduate who is looking to gain experience in a GMP environment?
If so, this is a great opportunity for a Process Biotechnologist to join a close-knit production team to produce biopharmaceutical products, adhering to GMP guidelines, following SOPs whilst using state of the art equipment. The site is expanding so it’s a great time to join the team to further your career.
The role requires the successful candidates to work a 12.5 hour day on a well - balanced shift pattern, to cover a 24 – hour production schedule (day shift 7am – 7.30pm, night shift 7pm – 7.30am). You will be working 2 or 3 consecutive days with days off in between; on occasions you will have 6 consecutive days off. Further information will be provided on application.
This role is based on site in central Nottingham and the site is a short walk from the train station and tram stop so it is easily accessible.

What you will accomplish together with us
Operate manufacturing equipment to carry out the cGMP production of Biopharmaceuticals
Production processing; incorporating Fermentation, Cell Separation, Chromatography, Final Ultrafiltration and In-process Sampling and Analysis
Preparation and Operation of all Equipment following SOP’s and PCD’s
Calibration of instruments and plant maintenance tasks as required during processing or during maintenance shutdown periods
Complete all documentation required to GDP
Operation of Walsh CIM computer control system
Assist in closure of operations related IOD’s, CR’s and CAPA
Filter control and integrity testing
Use of the production autoclave
Manual handling and physically demanding activities at times (i.e.: lifting 25kg bags of salts, sugar and more)
What will convince us
You may have an A level science background or
Previous experience of working to cGMP in a pharmaceutical or other industry such as medical device, food etc. would be beneficial or
Previous experience in a cleanroom environment or
BSc or MSc in life science related discipline (Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry etc.)
Attention to detail
Good communication and written skills
Working as part of a team as well as individually
The ability to follow correct procedures and quality standards
