About the Role

Trainee International Recruitment Officer

The Nottingham Trent University International Development Office team has an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in working in international student recruitment and helping overseas students achieve their dream of studying in the UK with one of the country’s top modern universities. This challenging and demanding role will require an exceptional candidate with skills that stand out from the crowd. International student recruitment has rapidly become one of the biggest sources of international revenue for the UK, with opportunities for significant career progression.

You will be part of an International Development Office team that is enjoying rapid growth. You will be responsible for supporting recruitment activities and achieving international student targets from an agreed portfolio of countries. You need to be happy to travel frequently, sometimes at short notice, within the UK and overseas, and will be expected to deliver results in some exciting and challenging environments. You will also need to be equally as enthusiastic about promoting the University at online events and meeting students virtually. A willingness to work non-standard hours, including evening and weekends is therefore essential.

You will receive lots of support and be given thorough training that will teach you the basics of international recruitment and marketing, introduce you to the people and departments that you will work alongside and give you an opportunity to learn how it’s done from talented colleagues.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have the ability to learn quickly and work under pressure whilst always maintaining a gold standard level of customer service. You will be happy taking responsibility and be flexible enough to enjoy working as part of a lively team spread around the globe, as well as using your initiative when working independently on assignments overseas.

The successful candidate will have an excellent degree and be ready to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication and a high level of enthusiasm. You will have relevant experience in a customer-facing role and be passionate about the benefits of a UK education. In addition, you will need to understand and thrive on the demands of international travel. The successful candidate can look forward to an exciting start to their career.

Interview Date: 18th & 19th September 2023
