We have an exciting Trainee Underwriting opportunity available at present within our successful Glasgow branch, where the team are committed to nurturing and developing our people to reach their full potential. With growth plans in place, we recognise the importance in identifying talented people to become the next generation of professional Underwriters in our business, where you can make a valued contribution.

What you'll be doing:

As a Trainee Fleet Underwriter, you'll be dealing with brokers, providing excellent service and working to business targets. This will involve building relationships and speaking confidently with people over the phone. As well as providing administration support within the team, you'll learn how to underwrite new and existing business profitably, accurately and in line with established Underwriting practice. The role will be working within a team dealing with a specific facility, whilst supported and part of our wider commercial fleet team, which ultimately allows for longer term career progression. Most of all, you'll take pride in the service you offer to all customers and partners.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Entry Requirements: This might be the right opportunity if you’re looking to make a career change, OR you might have completed your studies and looking for that great opportunity to utilise your skills. Whatever your circumstances, we want to hear from you. However, we ask for a minimum entry requirement of A level or equivalent in numerical subjects (Maths, Science, Economics, Business, Accounting etc).

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
