Additional salary information: Overtime/Time in lieu and out of pocket expenses

Based in Exeter, Devon but operating throughout the UK, this growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking to recruit a Trainee Environmental Monitoring Technician.

The role will require the delivery of consultancy excellence for our clients, primarily in the mining and quarrying sectors as well as providing professional and technical support internally and externally.

Following a period of training under supervision, the main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- COSHH Exposure Monitoring and Assessments
- Workplace and Environmental Noise Monitoring and Assessments
- Environmental Dust/Air quality monitoring
- Local Exhaust Ventilation Testing
- Groundwater Sampling
- Landfill Gas Monitoring
- Preparing and writing reports
- Scheduling work and ensuring on-time service delivery
- Preparing, cleaning, maintaining and calibrating equipment; and
- Ensuring delivery of samples to contracted laboratories

Key skills and qualifications are as follows:

- Applicants should ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant scientific discipline
- Consideration will also be given to applicants with experience of the mining/quarrying sector who are educated to at least A' Level standard, preferably in sciences, willing to undertake vocational qualifications and training
- Full driving license is essential as the role will involve extensive UK wide travel
- Highly motivated and organised individual with a flexible approach to work
- Capable of managing own workload to defined timescales as well as working collaboratively within a team
