An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Customer Service and Application Support Engineer within the Customer Service Department. This role will involve working as part of a small team to investigate and repair power supplies returned by customers.

The successful candidates will become proficient in the use of internal Customer Service return systems and develop a strong knowledge of the complete manufacturing process within TDK-Lambda UK. Furthermore, as the Customer Service department is also part of the wider Customer Technical and Applications support group, there will be opportunity to be involved in customer site visits, system testing and troubleshooting with the addition of report writing functions.

Other skills that will also be developed include competency in the use of the EMC Centre, Design and Validation testing, Component Approval, Safety Engineering and report writing.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Candidates will develop skills in electrical and electronic failure analysis at a component level and gain knowledge and experience in Power electronics.
  • Maths at GCSE Grade B or 6 and English Language at GCSE Grace C or 4/5 is essential.
  • GCSE Physics would be desirable.
  • Candidates will be required to study an EAL L3 Diploma - Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (electronics) course via day release at Petroc.
  • The ability to manage workload, work independently and prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team is essential.
  • Computer skills are also essential (MS Office).

This is a full time position working the following hours:

  • Monday - Thursday 07:30am - 16:30pm with a 45 minute unpaid lunch break
  • Friday 07:30am - 12 noon.
