Unique opportunity to join our Global Legal function as a Trainee Company Secretarial Assistant. Alongside studying to become a Chartered Secretary or Chartered Governance Professional, you will be working within the Company Secretary team which is responsible for ensuring good governance and compliance by Costa and its subsidiaries with applicable corporate legislation and regulations, as well as managing various insurance areas for the Costa business. This role is varied and hands on and will suit a driven individual with exceptional attention to detail and who is looking to develop their career as a Chartered Company Secretary or Chartered Governance Professional.

A bit about the role...
You will report to, and support, the Assistant Company Secretary across multiple areas within the company secretariat and insurance areas including the following:
- Compliance with applicable corporate legislation and regulations in the UK as well as various other overseas markets
- Production, review, and approval of the statutory accounts for various Costa companies
- Filing of statutory forms and documents on a timely basis
- New company incorporations and dissolutions while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and meeting all filing deadlines
- Production and approval of powers of attorney
- Managing and maintaining the Costa Group corporate structure chart and entity management systems at all times
- Making quarterly disclosures to the parent company, as required under any US or other overseas regulations
- Management and maintenance of the Costa Group insurance programme, including provision of all information required by Costa’s brokers and insurers for the renewal of its insurance policies

- Recognised degree (preferably law or similar) or equivalent professional experience, to assist with becoming qualified Company Secretary
- Commitment of working towards a qualification with The Chartered Governance Institute
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Methodical and logical approach to work
- Deadline driven with an ability to work at pace
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all seniority levels
- Strong IT literacy across all Microsoft office applications
