Job description
We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.
We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including Facebook, KPMG, Morgan Stanley and the NHS. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.
Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP of People & Talent, this is an exciting opportunity to deliver a world-class employee experience for Multiverse, that drives employee happiness, retention and performance.
The Director of People Experience will create a structured operating and communications strategy for all key moments in the employee journey. Through effective communications and project management, you will land programme launches and global rollouts with impact. By partnering closely with the People & Talent Leadership team, you will own key elements of our people strategy, including wellbeing, leadership development, engagement and culture.
You will also manage the Employer Brand, Internal Communications & Learning Development teams to attract, engage and develop the best talent in the world.
Strategy
Decide what we are known for as an employer. Design a holistic strategy that sets us apart and delivers against our EVP internally - covering innovative approaches to wellbeing, leadership development and employee engagement
Work with the people partnering and DEI teams to design a proactive employee engagement survey cadence and approach, holding teams and leaders accountable for implementing change within their area
Work with the Director of DEI to find the intersection of equity, inclusion and wellbeing, creating a strategy that fits the unique needs of our mission-led organisation
People implementations
Lead the People Experience Executive to own the project management of all people related launches
Own the people calendar and take a project management approach to ensure that the annual plan feels like a coherent employee experience for different user groups, and that launches land when they’re needed most
Increase adoption of strategic people initiatives through tailored internal marketing campaigns
Employer Brand
Develop Multiverse’s brand awareness and brand sentiment - making us an employer of choice for top talent
Effectively communicate our EVP to ensure we’re attracting the right talent for Multiverse
Provide support to the Senior Employer Brand Manager to drive diverse and high-quality candidates to the top of our recruitment funnel to achieve our hiring goals
Internal Communications
Develop an internally facing EVP and “voice” that speaks to the different personas of our employees, from Coaches to Account Executives
Introduce a strategic internal communications approach that brings transparency to our business goals and people processes
Ensure that every communication touchpoint is informative, inspiring and relevant to improve engagement
Review and refresh our existing communication channels - including our All Hands, newsletter, Wiki and Slack - and identify solutions for gaps in our current framework
Build a global communications calendar that is used consistently across the organisation
Support and advise our SLT Team to ensure that key messages are effectively cascaded to drive performance
L&D
Provide support to the Senior Learning & Development Manager to evolve our existing programmes, and design new ones that support hitting our EVP - including Manager Fundamentals and DEI training
Build a structured approach to Multiverse’s Internal Apprenticeship programme to deliver a world-class experience for our apprentices
Partner closely with the People & Talent Leadership to create an internal talent development and succession planning process so that Multiverse is seen as THE place to grow your career
Ensure that DEI is embedded in our performance and development programmes to achieve fairness and equity across the organisation
