Trainee CAD Technician – Construction Industry

Salary up to: £12/hr Part-time, Office Based

We are looking for a Trainee CAD Technician to join our team of mechanical & electrical engineers at Davie + McCulloch.

You will be part of a team working on a wide range of exciting projects mainly within the education, healthcare and housing sectors and you will get the opportunity to gain experience and develop your knowledge in the field of Building Services Engineering.

The position is initially on a part time basis (3 days / 23.25 hours per week) but with the possibility to transfer to full time in the future.

Salary will be in the range £10 - £12 per hour dependent on skill set and experience. Package includes 4 weeks holiday, public holidays and pension scheme

About you:

The successful candidate shall ideally be experienced in;

  • working with AutoCAD and producing 2D drawings
  • have some experience in 3D draughting
  • experienced with MS Outlook, Word & Excel
  • you should have the ability to take ownership of tasks with limited support from senior staff and work both on your own and as part of a multi-discipline team
  • good organisational and communication skills

The position will involve:

  • preparing 2D engineering services drawings and details
  • preparing co-ordinated services drawings
  • administering document control procedures for updating and issuing drawings
  • updating / revising 3D REVIT models using industry standard modelling applications
  • implementing BS1192 relevant standards.
