The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join its finance team to work alongside the Management Accountant carrying out financial duties in relation to provision and analysis of management accounting information and to provide support to and regular contact with budget holders. This role will be working across all departments in the faculty to provide a high standard of customer service while upholding financial procedures and processes. This is a permanent, full time role based at the Headington campus.
The post holder will be:
- Reviewing monthly financial reports on behalf of the SMA and wider faculty, assisting with analysis of variations to budget, actioning changes and corrective journals and communicating key information
- Preparing the faculty’s monthly payroll forecasting tool, to ensure accurate and timely data for forecasting, planning and the year-end accounts. This will also involve updating the University’s planning software. Coordinating the faculty’s associates pay claims system
- Working with the CPD team to ensure that invoices are raised in a timely manner. Reconciling the data in the CPD system with the finance system. Using the university’s costing tools to accurately allocate overheads within the finance system.
You should have:
- AAT
- A-Levels or equivalent
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English, written and spoken
- Substantial and relevant experience of working in a finance office / environment
- Experience of using financial systems
- High standard of computer literacy with strong excel skills and ability to use financial systems effectively
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prepare clear and meaningful project reports, or management summaries, and explain financial information or concepts to non-financial staff.
