Various positions available across Mental Health NHS Fife Inpatient Services

An exciting service development opportunity has arisen for trainee band 4 assistant practitioner posts across in-patient mental health services in NHS Fife. (Older adult, Adult, Rehabilitation, Forensic, IPCU). Location of these posts will be Stratheden Hospital Cupar, Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline, Whyteman’s Brae Hospital Kirkcaldy.

Successful candidates will be supported through Fife College to undertake a year long course at SCQF Level 8, working in a blended approach with support from the Practice Education Facilitators, clinical practice supervisors and assessors.

The development of these posts will provide clinicians with an opportunity to shape the service and evaluate new ways of working within the mental health in-patient field, in keeping with the National drive to support the nursing profession for the future.

The successful candidates will deliver clinical care under in/direct supervision and guidance form a registered practitioner where appropriate undertake delegated tasks within the competency boundaries set within the programme.

Trainee Assistant Practitioners are appointed to the role using an HR process called Annex 21, this means that you will be paid in a band 4 post initially at 75% of the band 4 pay scale until you achieve the academic qualification and completion of clinical competency assessments.
