- Represents Finance and provides stewardship and support in the governance processes covering Finance data
- With the support from the enterprise Data & Analytics team and working closely with the Performance Analytics & Support team, leads the design of a modern Finance data platform containing a centralized data store, enabling data analysis and analytics, integration, reports and visualization, and data governance principles
- Leads the design and build on dashboards and reports to visualize data and enhance Finance’s analytical capabilities
- Liaises and represents the Finance department in the broader BCI Digital Technology Strategic Ambition by enabling self-service for Finance users to meet their needs and further BCI’s data and analytics capabilities
- Establishes data alignment between Finance teams and other BCI functions for common and reportable data points
- Develops prioritization and evaluation strategies to determine the sequence and dependencies to convert standalone branch level data into a data storage solution with department-wide access
- Leads the requirements definition, design, and development effort of the data storage, working collaboratively with Technology department and external consultants to minimize ‘throw away’ work and re-design
- Translates business needs and requirements into functional specifications; researches solutions and estimates benefits, develops business cases, and presents project proposals to management for approval
- Supervises, manages, and coordinates between Finance, Technology and/or external consultants on work effort required to implement approval solutions
- Establishes and operationalizes data governance and quality control processes to safeguard integrity of data
- University degree in Business, Finance, Math, Computer Science, or Data Science
- 5 to 7 years experience in business / technical analyst roles, strong understanding of requirements gathering, solution design, development, and testing. Experience fulfilling these roles in a Finance environment is a plus
- Experience in data modelling and architecture with a bias towards financial data systems
- Intermediate to advanced business intelligence analyst or developer skills to build or guide the development of ETLs, building logic using Python and end user reports / dashboards using PowerBI
- Initiative, self-starter, drive, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent technical, organizational and communication skills
- A strong client service mindset and consultative approach to understand complex business requirements and to drive creative solutions to address internal and external client needs
- Critical thinker and passionate about continuous improvement and driving and effecting change leveraging technologies
- Strong ability to remain calm and collaborative under pressure
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of SimCorp Dimension data structure and data flow is an asset
- Prior experience in the investment management or similar industries an asset
- Experience in the investment management and financial market data (e.g., price, position, benchmark index, security) and business data (valuation, budget associated data flow)
- Advanced programming skills, SQL and / or R / Python
- Experience working with Jedox reporting tool
- Knowledge or experience of cloud data platforms like Azure, SQL MI or Synapse
