Salary during training is £29,469pa and rises to £34,695pa upon completion of training. We are looking for people who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service to our customers on board.

Apprenticeships are our preferred method of delivery (where applicable) to fully support you in your new job role. You will receive 1-1 support from independent industry experts working in partnership with CrossCountry.

As a Train Manager you will be positive and proactive, undertaking many tasks in order to make every journey great. Your responsibilities will include checking and selling tickets, issuing payment notices, advising customers about their journey by communicating individually and in groups, always being aware of their individual needs.

Working a variety of shift patterns almost around the clock and seven days per week – flexibility is essential to this role. Average hours are 35 per week. You will face many different challenges whilst working on board the train, so you need to be able to deal with the unexpected in a calm way, but also be outgoing and confident. You will provide an excellent standard of customer service and safety at all times, ensuring that we always provide a professional position for our business and develop a strong competitive advantage.

You will ensure the train environment is comfortable by fixing and reporting defective equipment, maintaining the passenger information system and managing luggage issues. Maintaining excellent customer service, you will work with the On-Board Team to ensure that our customers have a memorable experience every time they travel with CrossCountry.

Safety is vitally important at all times, as you may be responsible for the safety of 300 customers and colleagues, so you must know and apply all procedures and regulations at all times and be prepared to take the lead should any critical situation demand it.

A proven track record of excellent customer service
Describe how you are doing an outstanding job in your current/most recent role
Experience of showing responsibility within previous roles
Evidence of following rules & regulations in the workplace
Evidence of using your own initiative and thinking on your feet to different situations
Ability to work within a team and on your own
Computer Literate
Ability to deal appropriately with difficult situations
Attention to detail and prioritise your duties
Live within 1 hour of the location you are applying for.
