Job description
An opportunity to grow and learn with a company that supports and encourages progession?
If so, look no further! Having won numerous contracts recently, we are on the look out for professional qualified drivers (freight or passenger competent) who would be proud to join the blue team and lead the freight rail revolution and partake in the exciting work we have, whether current or in the pipeline.
As a Felixstowe based driver you would mainly drive class 66 diesel locomotives across various routes in England. The work is predominately on our intermodal services transporting containers all over the country.
You would be empowered to take responsibility for the delivery of the key activities on the front line, to always be conscious of, and operate with, the highest regard to safety and to challenge unsafe behaviours at all times.
A flexible attitude to working hours is required due to this being a shift-based role working a nominal 34.5 hour week. The shifts vary and need to cover work 24/7, particularly on nights, which is traditionally the domain of freight!
And if that’s not enough reason to join us, you will also be able to enjoy the following:
- Healthcare package – Healthcare cover for a range of operations for you and a partner living at the same address as well as cover for a number of health care facilities for you and your dependents including consultations, scans, counselling, optical, dental, and therapy treatments.
- Cycle to work scheme – Salary sacrifice scheme for bicycle purchase twice a year.
- Denplan scheme – Salary sacrifice scheme for you and your partner.
- Online Benefits Portal – Offering hundreds or discounts at nationwide retailers.
- SmartTech - interest free purchase scheme in partnership with Currys PC World
If you’re sitting there thinking ‘where do I sign up?’, there’s only three more questions to answer:
- Do you live within 45 minutes travel time of the Felixstowe area?
- Do you have a full UK manual driving licence?
- Are you competent to drive trains on the mainline?
