Shop Assistant
Upholstery Village is a leading global flexible packaging company with operations in more than 60 countries. We pride ourselves on providing innovative and durable products that are suited to specific industries. Our products are found in retail, commercial, and healthcare settings throughout the world.
Our company is currently seeking a Shop Assistant to support our retail and commercial sales teams. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting customers in our retail and commercial showroom by answering phones, processing orders, and general shop upkeep.
The person in this position will also learn basic accounting, inventory control, and working with a computer to enter orders into our computer system. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in retail sales and is looking to gain experience in the industry.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous accounting or clerical work preferred.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
- Must be able to maintain a pleasant attitude and professional appearance at all times.
- Must be able to handle customer questions and complaints with tact and professionalism.
- Must have basic knowledge of computers.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phones in a busy switchboard system.
- Processing orders into our computer system.
- Checking in new inventory daily.
- Restocking product on shelves throughout the store.
