Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking a Tour Guide to join our Visitor and Audience Operations team.
Our Tour Guides provide the highest quality of customer care to all those visiting SShakespeare’s Globe. They devise and deliver first class guided tours of the outdoor Globe Theatre and short talks to visitors.
We have a number of Full-Time, Part-Time and Casual Contracts available.
Owing to the nature of the role, the job holder may be requested to work longer hours and flexibly.
This role will require year-round regular evening and weekend work. The post-holder will be required to stand up for long periods and will include manual handling. Consideration will be given to the requirements of the role and whether adjustments could be made.
The successful candidate will be able to provide excellent visitor care, building relationships and communicating with effectively with a wide range of people. They will have the ability to research and develop information to deliver guided tours and talks with confident communication and presentation skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to work well collaboratively as part of a large team and within the wider organisation. We’re looking for someone with an interest in theatre, history and the work of SShakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
The Visitor and Audience Operations department is made up of a large operational team encompassing the management and delivery of the tours, performance and event operations, and is responsible for a large volunteer team. It also supports the Retail function and wider Globe activities and provides Duty Management for the site. The team collaborate closely with other departments to bring the highest standards of audience experience in the delivery of all the Globe’s work.
