Tour Consultant Part-Time

Principal contacts –
Internal: Team leaders and staff within the customer care and reservations team, operations department, accounts department, contracting department, B2B Department, Managers and Directors
External: Customers and prospective customers, travel agents, tour operators, extensive supplier network across various different locations.
Job purpose
Working as part of our customer care and reservations team you'll be helping Rabbie’s to continue to develop and produce experiences that last a lifetime. The role is dynamic and you will need to use your own initiative, prioritise and self-manage your work load in a fast paced and changeable environment. The primary shift for this role is 07:00-11:00 based at our Edinburgh departure point, the Edinburgh Bus Station.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Assist with customer enquires (phone/email/face-to-face) covering a range of questions relating to our products
- Check-in tour passengers at our Edinburgh departure point and provide office support for driver/guide’s from all other departure points.
- Investigate bookings and solve problems support the operation and achieve customer experience objectives
- Convert sales using skills and knowledge that you will develop
- Process scheduled tour via our in-house booking systems (training will be provided)
- Play your part in assisting the Customer Care and Reservations Team to achieve set targets
- Process tour payments and perform general cash handing duties
- Undertake general ad hoc administrative duties such as invoicing, tour vouchers and passenger lists
- Support Accommodation and Agent Sales teams as required.
- Maintain an awareness and adhered to Health & Safety policies

Essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to adapt to wide range of duties and react to a variety of customer enquiries
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (phone manner, email and face-to-face communications)
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to new programmes and systems
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a team as well as being confident to think on your feet and solve problems independently
- A real passion for travel/tourism and a good geographic knowledge of the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe
- Highly adaptable and able to respond well under pressure
- Passionate about preserving our environment and communities and work in a sustainable way that ensures that we leave our country preserved for future generations to enjoy
Desirable Skills
- Experience in sales and awareness of sales targets
- Previous experience within a Tour Operator or a related industry and/or experience within a customer service role
- Language skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite
