We're looking for a dedicated tester to join an exciting team working closely with journalists on innovative interactive content to tight deadlines. You’ll help deliver interactive News content; your role will be to thoroughly test News content before publication. This could be an interactive lookup to discover how your local NHS service is performing, a visual guide to BBC 100 Women 2022 or any other item in the news. Every day will be different, and you’ll be working on content viewed by millions.

By working tightly together, the editorial, design, data and development teams aim to produce content that informs, educates and entertains. When we have a tight deadline, the team comes together, and we would often expect testers to be working across multiple projects simultaneously.
Are you the right candidate?Essential experience
- 2+ years testing experience
- Experience in working and negotiating with stakeholders
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of accessibility testing e.g. assistive technology, tab indexes, off-screen content
- Experience using Dev Tools in a browser
- Experience of eliciting requirements from multiple sources
- Experience of automated testing (preferably JS based)
- A good understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of using test automation
Desirable experience
- A good knowledge of software testing best practices
- A desire and ability to learn quickly and keep up to date with the latest testing tools and techniques and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Great testing skills and experience of testing cloud hosted web applications and associated backend services
- Hands-on experience of different web automation testing tools and frameworks (preferably JS based)
- Experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience of working with and sharing ideas with other Testers
