About the role
Do you want to play a part in the rollout of our products and services that customers love? Would you like to study, learn and work towards a professional qualification? Join us on our Test & Triage Analyst Apprenticeship and have it all!
Be the brains behind Virgin Media O2
Test & Triage Analyst Apprentices will work in our Smart Metering team, who are responsible for delivering and maintaining a multi-billion-pound service and onward delivery programme. You will be working on one of the world’s largest Internet of Things initiatives, supporting the UK’s national energy infrastructure into the UK Government. Your role will be to support on projects that are going through the delivery lifecycle, including both customer and internal changes.
Build skills for the future
As an apprentice, you’ll test both changes to existing products alongside testing newly introduced capability to ensure they meet compliance on functionality and system integrity. This is a big programme with more than 250 people working on it, and so far, it has saved around 600 million tons of CO2 emissions through its contribution to climate change improvement, so you’ll leave a huge impact on our business and the community. Day-to-day tasks you will own include:
Identifying, documenting and resolving any problems seen while testing in the Quality Assurance & Test environments
Troubleshooting any defects found while identifying and managing the risk they present to our onward delivery and downstream impact to our customers
Interpreting user requirements, technical and functional specifications and then applying this to plan, develop and implement test scenarios
What we look for
Curiosity. Passion. Interest. These are key attributes we want to see in our apprentices. You’ll work with data and analytics every single day, so a genuine passion in this, and the creation of reports, is important. As well as creating these reports, you’ll need to read and analyse them to draw conclusions and make recommendations, so strong analytical skills are key to thriving in this role. Other qualities we’d like to see include:
Ability to prioritise workloads
Curiosity to develop, both personally and in your career
Happy to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and individually
We’re 100% committed to having a workforce that represents every part of our society, so we’re keen to hear from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances.
What’s in it for you
When you join us, you’ll get a starting salary of £21,500. Once you do complete the apprenticeship, you’ll also progress into a Test & Triage Analyst role to continue developing your skills and experience in our business.
We’re a close team that spends a lot of time together, not just during work, but outside of it too. We’ll invite you along to our social events and even encourage you to initiate and develop ideas throughout the team. Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy our amazing benefits!
