About the role
The Junior Propulsion Engineering Test Technician will work as part of magniX’s Test Team, which is responsible for the development, production and certification testing of our Electric Powertrain products. The Junior Propulsion Engineering Test Technician will be responsible for manufacturing, operating, and maintaining out test facilities, fixtures, and associated equipment and instrumentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manufacture test instrumentation, wire harnesses, jigs, and other equipment associated with test conduct
- Perform fabrication, modification, and assembly of prototype systems and test facilities
- Perform instrumentation installation and calibration on test articles
- Setup and disassembly of test articles onto magniX test jigs and facilities
- Operation of the test facilities and conducting testing, with engineering support as applicable
- Perform periodic maintenance and calibration of all test equipment, instrumentation, and facilities
- Provide feedback to test and design engineers regarding any issues or lessons learned during the conduct of job duties with the goal of improving our products and our processes
- Troubleshoot test facility and instrumentation issues
- Document and raise non-conformance and issues with quality and supply whenever applicable
- Research, analyze and develop understanding of technical issues and requirements
- Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 50 lbs
Qualifications
- Associates degree or trade school graduation in Aviation Maintenance, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or related degree. Military experience and training equivalent is acceptable.
- Familiar with electronics, components, wiring, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand engineering specifications
- Knowledge of Solidworks CAD is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex product development environment with multiple changing priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- BS in Electrical or other Engineering discipline OR airframe & powerplant mechanic license a plus
